General Usage:

1. Purpose:

   • It's a solvent-based basecoat, typically used in two-stage painting systems for cars. After applying the basecoat, a clearcoat is applied to protect it and give a glossy finish.

2. Application:

   • Surface Preparation: Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free of grease or dust. Sand if necessary.
   • Mixing Ratio: Mix the MIPA BC basecoat with the recommended thinner. The usual ratio is 2:1 (2 parts paint to 1 part thinner) or as per the technical datasheet.
   • Spray Gun Settings: Use a spray gun with a nozzle size of 1.3–1.4 mm. Apply at a pressure of 2.0–2.5 bar.
   • Coating: Apply in thin, even layers. Allow each coat to flash off (dry slightly) before applying the next.

3. Overcoating:

   • Once the basecoat is dry, apply a MIPA 2K clearcoat to enhance durability and gloss.

4. Curing:

   • Allow proper flash-off time between coats and before applying the clearcoat. Typically, 10–15 minutes at 20°C.
